FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
ISN'T IT CHEAPER TO BOOK HOTELS AND OTHER SERVICES MYSELF?
Generally no. Hotels and lodges give special rates to companies like ours and we incorporate these rates into our package prices.

IS IT CHEAPER TO TRAVEL WITH A GROUP IN A SCHEDULED TRIP?
Sometimes. It depends on how many people you are in your group. If you are alone, then certainly joining a group would save you money. But for a family of four, a custom safari might be a better value, and you don't visit places you don't want to see when setting up a custom trip.
    IS IT SAFE?
Like any tourist destination, there are risks. We prepare you for those risks and our staff will do everything possible to ensure you have a safe holiday.

    WILL I GET MALARIA?
As part of our comprehensive pre-departure guide you will receive once you book your trip, there is a section on medical preparation. We strongly suggest that you visit a doctor before you travel and get his advice on prevention of malaria. With the right precautions, it is rare that a safari participant gets malaria.
    WHAT IS THE FOOD LIKE?
The biggest complaint from our safari participants is that there is too much food. The food in Africa is not unlike western food. Meat includes beef, chicken, pork, lamb and sometimes goat. Seafood includes prawns, tilapia, Nile perch, and calamari. There are plenty of fresh vegetables and fruit and our team can work on any special dietary requirements and requests.

    ISN'T IT HOT THERE?
At times and in certain places, yes. But generally you will find pleasant temperatures. The Serengeti is at an elevation of around 2,500 feet so temperatures are cooler. Places like Arusha and Nairobi are at more than 4,000 feet above sea level and can even get chilly. The rim of the Ngorongoro Crater is at 8,000 feet and can be cold. At the coast, Mombasa, Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar, etc., temps do get a bit warmer because they are at sea level.

Once you book with us, we will give you complete details to prepare for your adventure.
CAN I PAY BY CREDIT CARD?
Yes! Africa's Best Safaris accepts all major credit cards. We will also accept payment by bank wire, check (on an American Bank), Pay Pal or Western Union.

WHEN DO I HAVE TO PAY?
Once we have agreed on the holiday programme that meets your interests and requirements and have checked that services are available, we will require a deposit to confirm the services. The amount of the deposit will depend on how soon from the date of booking your holiday is to the travel date. Before you pay, you will be provided a payment schedule as well as cancellation fees. Our standard terms of booking includes our normal deposit policy.
